My Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab geeky perfume challenge

My geeky obsessions leaks onto every other aspects of my life, including… other obsessions. I’ve being a dedicated admirer of Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab’s perfume creations for so long now. They come up with so much creative and fascinating perfumes every year.

In a recent order, the lab placed in their traditional free samples (frimps) a scent with a very evoking name to me: Event Horizon. Being a very assiduous follower of the Sixty Symbol’s channel on Youtube, I knew what that scent was inspired from. And I was thrilled! (Link to Sixty Symbol's video about black holes and event horizons here!)

So, that’s where I’ve had this idea today to go though their current selection, and make a list of their scent inspired (even just a little bit) by scientific themes (meteorological phenomenons, physics, etc.). All this to please the little geeky girl in me! So, my plan is to try to get and review most of these scents during the next year. I’ll keep the up-dates on this coming here! Let's call this some kind of challenge let's say. :)

My finds form their Bewitching Brews collection:

A negatively charged scent. Ambergris, Spanish Moss, oakmoss and three electric mints.

All the glory, warmth and majesty of the sun -- darkened. A delicious blend of bitter almond, vanilla, frankincense and heliotrope, with a drop of cinnamon.

A disconcerting scent, heavy and oppressive, through which no light, no matter, and no spirit can escape. Black opium, labdanum, opoponax, black orchid, and benzoin.

The Dark Side of Air: a high pitched, tangy, clear scent -- light China rain deepened by murky vetivert.

Lightning slashing the midnight skies over the endless reaches of the ocean. The electric tang of ozone, marine notes, and a drop of sharp rain.

A paradoxical scent experiment! - tangerine, sugared lime, pink grapefruit, oakmoss, lavender, zdravetz, and chocolate peppermint.

Electrifying, mechanized and chilly -- the scent of crushed blooms strewn on cold metal. Lush violet and neroli spiked hard with eucalyptus and a sliver of mint.

The deepest, darkest point in a shadow; the area contained within the shadow of an eclipse. East African black patchouli, cedarwood, vetiver and a dribble of cinnamon.

The Dark Side of Water: clean and purifying, yet menacing -- lotus and juniper with a hint of mint. A scent dragged up from the depths to the Stygian shore.

In their past Limited Editions:

NUCLEAR WINTER
Annihilation. The ice, desolation and barrenness of nuclear devastation shot through by a beam of radioactive mints.
